Adult Sunday School occurs between services from October to May. Topics include scripture studies, current events, support topics (e.g. grief and loss) and book studies. These two to four week classes are taught by the priest or adult volunteers. Participants have grown from a core group of eight to thirty five. On Thursday mornings, Good Shepherd has also supported a Men’s Bible Study group. Recent self-study has shown a strong interest from our parishioners in year-round Sunday School, Women’s and Co-ed Bible Studies, as well as other small study and support groups.
Beginning on February 18th and going through March 18th, we will meet in the adult education room in Hines Hall at 9:15 on Sunday mornings. Christian Poets: Each week we will consider the work of one Christian poet. From Welsh-born 17th century Anglican priest, George Herbert, to American poet Mary Oliver who began writing poetry at age fourteen, we will look at the lives and poetry of a wide variety of poets. Discussion led by Erin Maxfield-Steele.
