The Bazaar Barn is the newest evolution of the Church of Good Shepherd’s much-anticipated annual Bazaar, held every July to raise money for the Church’s outreach efforts. Begun in 1985 by The Rev. Steve Hines with donated dresses and items from his parents’ Highlands home, the original Bazaar raised $2,000. Over the years the Bazaar grew substantially, and crowds from all over gathered eagerly to buy donated art, antiques and household items. In 2019, the Bazaar raised more than$195,000 for area non-profits. When Covid-19 hit in 2020, and we could no longer hold in-person sales, we opened the doors to our “Bazaar Barn” warehouse to the public, and a new chapter of Good Shepherd’s outreach efforts began. Amazingly, the Barn raised $215,000 during the 2020 pandemic for agencies helping area residents!
The Barn is open Fridays and Saturdays from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm or by appointment, offering gently used furniture, linens and household items. Skip Ryan, the Bazaar Barn manager, oversees a group of friendly volunteers who sell, sort and secure donations. Contact Skip about donations or to volunteer (828) 226-2588.
