Announcing the Legacy of Community
A Capital Campaign for a Bazaar Barn

One thing that draws people to Good Shepherd is our reputation for ministry in the community. Our Outreach efforts include community partner grants, which have totaled over two million dollars since the Bazaar began in 1986. Conkle-Rowe Scholarships and English Language Learners, other major parts of our outreach, have also benefited from Bazaar Barn activities.
Now we are taking a next and needed step: a new Bazaar Barn location. After an extensive search, a nearly perfect place was located on Highway 107 North just opposite the Blue Ridge School. It has better space for volunteers and shoppers alike. It's twice the space of the former site. We have been leasing the space since May 1, and will become owners on November 30, 2023. We have launched a Capital Campaign to fund the building’s purchase, renovations, and ongoing maintenance. We know we will have to carry a mortgage for a short period of time, but after that, we will own the building outright and have more funds for outreach when mortgage and rent are behind us. Our goal for the project is $2.1 million dollars, and we have raised over $1 million toward that goal as of June 27. Informational tri-folds are in the pews, as are pledge cards. You may also use this link below. Please join us in making a pledge by July 31. We have received pledges from $100 to $150,000, and every pledge counts. Pledges can be fulfilled over the next three years, so prayerfully consider what pledge is right for you as we invest in our community going forward. Your gift towards this campaign is yet another way to reflect God’s Love through our faith in action!. |
